GANG LEADER – Whether taking Chiranjeevi’s powerful title Gang Leader or Direction by Manam and 24 fame Vikram K Kumar or addition of RX 100 fame Karthikeya as a villain, posters, teaser, trailer, active promotions by Nani everything related to film garnered a lot of buzzes. But after the release nothing helped the film to become successful even Nani’s as usual terrific performance. In a genre like a fun crime thriller story, narration and comedy have to be strong points but for this film narration is predictable and comedy brings laughter in pieces. Though some liked the film collections are not that impressive. The film did impressive business before release by selling Theatrical rights for 30 Cr but because of its failure it managed to collect 20.60 Cr closing share.

VALMIKI AKA GADDALAKONDA GANESH – big-time relief to Director Harish Shankar who struggled with continuous flops. It’s a remake of Tamil Hit Jigarthanda with Bobby and Siddarth in main roles. Telugu roles were played by Varun Tej and Atharva respectively. Varun Tej did excellent performance and his makeover is all love. Even though Pooja Hegde was for 30 minutes her role remained as highlight especially in Velluvochi godaramma song remake she charmed the audience. Compared to the original, Director did some changes for Telugu nativity which are not that impressive. Comedy is vulgar at times. Narration felt bland as time went. Finally, Ganesh is good in bits and pieces. Theatrical rights got sold out for 25 Cr and collected near to recovery with a closing share of 23.40 Cr making above average at box-office.
