Now a days movie lovers preferring digital sites like Amazon prime video, Netflix and Hotstar more than theaters for small movies because of ticket price hikes and also for the fact these sites offer films in multiple languages with superior quality. Owing to the roaring business these sites making, producers also demanding huge sum for superstar films despite the result. Unexpectedly big Films like Prabhas’s Saaho and Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Syeraa Narasimha Reddy garnered less views than expected bringing huge loss to these platforms.
This made creators of digital sites come to an agreement not to buy films on a whole but to make partnership deals by taking 70-30 share for big films (70 for makers and 30 for digital sites) and 60-40 for small films according to some sources. Also celebrities like Daggubati Suresh Babu and Allu Arjun said to be in plan of creating digital apps, as part of this Allu Arjun bought rights for Nikhil’s recent outing Arjun Suravaram for 2 crores.
